Trevor Hendy unveils portrait painting for Charity Aucion for BRAKE Driver Awareness Program

Today brought together an unveiling of a magnificent painting of Gold Coast iconic sportsman, Trevor Hendy, who was undefeated for 4 years straight as Australia's premier ironman.  Trevor, who now is behind bringing the Saltwater Festival to Kingscliff Salt Village on the weekend of May 8th and  9th that will present a free event where anyone can register to enter water and land sports, in  a great location where fine food and music will be provided throughout the 2 days of the event.

Present today at the Mantra Resort and Spa in Kingscliff was Andrew Grech, an inspirational contemporary artist was very happy indeed to be donating his work to the charity BRAKE, founded by Rob Duncan who is a  highly respected policeman and in his private time works with a team of people who help to get the education programme to as many schools in QLD.   BRAKE www.brake.org.au is a unique driver education program designed to give teenagers the skills they need to get them through the critical first few years of driving.  It does this by providing knowledge, power and responsibility to teenagers, parents and teachers.

Andrew Grech, when asked how long it took to do the painting, said it was a matter of a week with a few trial ones that he was not happy with - but Andrew is not your ordinary painter,  from a young age he was taught by the best.  Andrew trained for six years under George Szloboda who studied under the great master, Pablo Picasso.   Grech is immensely multitalented with private clients including rock stars, celebrities and elite athletes.  Grech's work is hung in many leading hotels around the globe and nationally. Currently his work is in the Sofitel Hotel in Broadbeach and Brisbane.

The painting is now placed in the foyer of Mantra at Kingscliff where anyone that has a keen interest in having this painting can submit a silent bid up to the end of the SWF Event May 9th,  which is Mother's Day -  and what a perfect gift that would be for anyone that wished to bid on this fine painting by such an established artist (a reserve price has been installed).

For any enquiries to the painting please contact Caroline Russo on info@carolinerusso.com or Rob Duncan on rduncan@brake.org.au
