The music is uplifting with a positive message of bringing people together  and given that the races of each festival will finish as the music element starts, there is no doubt that athlete and spectator alike will be in for quite a party.  The festival has been built around Stand up Board paddling, Ocean Ski/Kayak paddling, Ocean Board paddling and Outrigger paddling and will also include  the likes of Surfing, Kite surfing, Thunder cat racing and Surf boat racing.  On the land you can expect Volleyball, Touch football, Hockey, Beach flags, Beach sprints and the Element X kids adventure race. The foreshore will host trade and food stalls plus free live music for all at the Salt event.  Every detail has been considered to ensure a special day for not only those racing and performing, but especially for family, friends and supporters. This is truly a Saltwater Festival and we hope you can come along for the ride. To become a part of The Saltwater Festival,    register or contact us.

WHY SALTWATER

We are a group of saltwater loving people, who get much pleasure from the many different aspects of the water.  We wanted to share this with others and decided to create an event that brought people from all walks of life together, with the common thread being saltwater.   So many of us draw on the world's saltwater resources and feel its effects through many areas of our life; work, rest and play.  Our desire was for this to reflect in 'the Saltwater Festival' and to bring people together to enjoy the numerous benefits of the water.  'The Saltwater Festival' is just that, a festival surrounding the water, where great competition means having fun, enjoying great music, good food and being surrounded by family and friends.

ABOUT OUR EVENTS

The Saltwater Festival will showcase paddler's from all of the traditional "Aloha" style categories including the rapidly growing class of Stand Up Paddle Boards, traditional Paddle Boards, Racing Skis and Kayaks and One Man Outriggers, with prize money and prizes up for grabs in both Saturday Marathons and the Supersprint eliminator on Sunday. Masters, Open, U/19 and  U/15 for men and women will be available, however, select age categories for varying distances.  These competitors and their families and friends will bring the event alive for 48hrs of racing and entertainment.  The event will be attended by both elite and recreational paddlers, who will then come together on the land for what will be an incredibly memorable festival and a fantastic celebration.

Why Salt? Simple, the 5 star international resort is located at another little hidden gem, the Tweed Coast, Northern NSW and only a very short distance from the Gold Coast and Brisbane and a days drive or short fllight from Sydney, with the Coolangatta airport just up the road.  This spectacular coast line provides competitors with ocean front surf conditions on sandy beaches and the best resort accommodation for their stay. The park and reserve provides international standard entertainment facilities for our musicall acts and event entertainment. Salt will be the beginning of a beautiflul relationship between the Saltwater Festival, paddlers, spectators, land sports and the ocean.   We look forward to sharing it all with you.

At all our festivals, after the pain from competition is out of the way the real focus will be on the time spent together. Saturday evening will see everyone gathering together for an evening of great music, food, wine, family and friends celebrating life in an incredible part of the world. After a great night of fun you can relax around the pool, or bar at one of our resort locations, either way bringing people together and having fun is what our events are all about.

The Supersprint Elimator on Sunday will include an invitation for the top 6 place getters in each marathon category.  This will be the competition finale, with competitors having to survive elimination over 4 rapid 200m rounds and a sprint to the finish and winner's purse.

The challenge will start 8am Saturday and finish at Sunday afternoon with some incredible memories made in between. The early talk is that it doesn't matter how you get there, as long as you don't miss it.
